Dixie Square Mall - Updated 2011

This certainly takes the spotlight as the world's deadest mall, and one that won't die.

Security Measures: There is a guard on site due to excavating equipment.
Safety measures: Collapsing roof, water standing, asbestos, the occasional person and dogs, police department on the corner of the property, fence that now borders the premises. (Fencing)

Reason its classified as a mall that won't die is the fact that it has been standing for 32 years! Twice as long as it was in operation. Partly because the town of Harvey doesn't have the funds to raze the site - and what has been demolished was done without permits and was done in the middle of the night. Other than that, scrappers have done their fair share and have taken anything and everything of value.
